BERLIN 2004  (Under Construction…)

In 2004, thanks to a grant from the Centre National de l’Audiovisuel, Luxembourg, I had the chance to spend a whole summer in Berlin. At that time the focus of my project, titled Persistence, was the 20th century interiors of cultural public meeting places in Europe, and Berlin was one of the capitals I wished to explore with this topic. More than fifteen years later, due to the lockdown period in 2020, I had the opportunity to come back to my analogue archive (the photographs derive all from 6×12 negatives). I soon discovered that the material I collected was much richer than I could remember, and many of the sites are today fully renovated and totally transformed. I thus decided to finally revisit my archive and to display a chapter dedicated to the city where I live today.
